Summer 2007 – A small business in Kentucky with 6 employees on their medical insurance plan neglected to remove an employee terminated from payroll in January. The billing was not reconciled and the employee finally was removed in June, 2007 for a final coverage date of May 31, 2007. The business lost $1,330 in cash flow and presented liability issues by not offering State Continuation.

Spring 2006 – Small business owner retired and the transitioning owner did not remove the former owner from coverage and lost three months of premium at $1,125 monthly. Total loss in cash flow of $3,375!!
